CCSC Southwest Region Conference 2017

What is exactly is a Lightning Talk? Lightning Talks are short, 2 to 3 minute presentations intended to spark discussion among conference participants.

Possible Lightning Talk topics:

  • sharing a teaching strategy,
  • presenting preliminary results from a project,
  • getting feedback on a new idea for an empirical CS ed project,
  • getting a critique of a research design or data-gathering strategy,
  • showcasing a tool or technique that hasn't been fully tested,
  • finding collaborators at other institutions, and
  • inspiring good conversations about CS education

Interested presenters should submit a title and one paragraph description of their topic to Belle Wei at belle.wei@sjsu.edu no later than Wednesday, Feb 22, 2017 for consideration (Deadline Extended!).

What is exactly is a Birds of a Feather (BOF)? BOFs are informal gatherings at conferences of people with similar interests. BOFs could bring people together to discuss experiences with a particular teaching strategy or addressing a particular teaching challenge

Interested presenters should submit a title and one paragraph description of their topic to Colleen Lewis at lewis@cs.hmc.edu no later than Wednesday, Feb 22, 2017 for consideration.
