2026 CCSC Susan Dean Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Kevin Treu has a long and significant service record to CCSC at the regional and national levels. He has been an integral part of the work in the South Eastern region since 1993. Dr. Treu represented the Southeastern region on the board for 24 years. He still serves as a member of Southeastern regional board. He has been a respected leader for the Southeastern region, serving numerous conference roles. CCSC Southeastern conference committee members over a period of many years appreciate his long history of insightful leadership.

2026 CCSC Distinguished Service Awardee

Awardee Kevin S. Treu

Dr. Treu served as the CCSC Board Secretary from 1994-1997. From 2000, through
2003 he served as the CCSC’s National Educational Computing Conference (NECC)
representative/liaison to the CCSC Board. Dr. Treu served on the committee that created the guidelines for the CCSC Susan Dean Distinguished Service Award. He chaired the CCSC Distinguished Service Award committee from its creation in 2009 until his retirement from the board in 2024. Over his years as an active Board member at the national level, he continually demonstrated his strong commitment to CCSC, and helped to shape the organization.

Dr. Treu’s regional service is best exemplified by the fact that he hosted the CCSC Southeastern regional conference at Furman University six (6) times. He contributed to the scholarship of the consortium through the publication of nine articles in The Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges. Dr. Treu continues to be an advocate for Computer Education and CCSC.
